On Saturday, Hillary Clinton hosted two town hall events and took part in one Iowa Democratic party event. It was a busy day in Iowa for Hillary for America with a number of high profile Democrats and celebrities meeting with voters. Clinton was also formally endorsed by The Des Moines Register this afternoon. But for Clinton, she remained the trail meeting with as many voters before the upcoming caucus. The first event of the day was in Clinton where she responded to recent questions about her health and stamina saying that she is healthy and that she would “match my endurance against anybody.” Clinton spoke to the crowd about a number of topics, then took questions during the town hall portion of the event. Videos from the Clinton appearance are below.

During a “Hard Hats for Hillary” event in Davenport, Clinton met with union members saying that she would fully support them as president. She spoke about how she has already been endorsed by twenty-four unions, including some of the largest in the nation. She spoke about her work to help those in the working class by raising the minimum wage and not weakening unions’ rights to collectively bargain. She then took questions from the voters in attendance.

For the final event of the day, Clinton stayed in Davenport for the Scott County Democratic Party’s Red, White & Blue Banquet. She was not the only Democratic presidential candidate in attendance as Martin O’Malley attended the event as well. Clinton spoke about her plans to bolster the economy, improve America’s infrastructure, and expand clean energy. She also pledged to not raise taxes on those in the middle class. Videos from the Davenport events will be posted when/if available.

On Saturday, The Des Moines Register endorsed Hillary Clinton for the Democratic ticket citing her knowledge and the depth of her experience as their reasoning. Although they criticized Clinton for not admitting when she has made a mistake, they said that overall her knowledge on a wide variety of issues impressed their editors during two separate interview sessions. In conclusion, they said, “Iowa Democrats will have to choose between the lofty idealism of Bernie Sanders and the down-to-earth pragmatism of Hillary Clinton. For some, this will be a choice of whether to vote with their hearts or their heads. Clinton has demonstrated that she is a thoughtful, hardworking public servant who has earned the respect of leaders at home and abroad. She stands ready to take on the most demanding job in the world.” Read the full article HERE.

Clinton Hosts New Hampshire Town Halls

1200x-1

On Friday, Hillary Clinton returned to New Hampshire where she attended three events. The first event was a town hall in Rochester. After being introduced by New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Clinton toned down her criticism of Bernie Sanders and rarely mentioned him by name. Being from neighboring Vermont, Sanders has a lot of supporters in New Hampshire, and she cannot afford to alienate them. She did point out several flaws in his plans, specifically heath care, and explained how her plan to expand the Affordable Care Act would be better for everyone.  Mentioning Sanders by name, Clinton said, “Senator Sanders and I share many of the same goals, but we have different records and different ideas about how to drive progress.” A video from the event is below.

On the 43rd anniversary date of the Court’s Roe vs. Wade decision, Clinton spoke at a women’s health conference hosted by NARAL Pro-Choice America. During her speech, Clinton supported a woman’s right to choose, something she has firmly believed in for her entire political career. She said, “All women deserve to have their rights respected. All women deserve to have access to the health services and choices they are entitled to. It should not be that some who are fortunate economically can access their rights while all others are left behind.” A video from the event will be posted when/if available.

Clinton’s final event of the day was a town hall event held in Manchester. During the event, Clinton focused on the economy and the work that needs to be done to grow the middle class. She also spoke about the heroin and opioid crisis that is spreading across the Northeast and has had a high impact on New Hampshire. She said, “I was not prepared to hear from so many about what was happening in the families of New Hampshire. Addiction, the heroin epidemic which is at one highest rates in this state of any in the country.” A video from the event will be added when/if available.

Today, Clinton returns to Iowa for three separate events. For all the latest, follow our revamped Scheduled Events page and follow Clinton on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.
