On Tuesday evening, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended a private fundraiser in the Charlotte area. The event reportedly took place at the home of Erskine and Crandall Bowles. Erskine Bowles was the White House Chief of Staff during President Bill Clinton’s second term. Crandall Bowles is a textile company executive. As with all private fundraisers, the event was closed to the press.
Hillary Rodham Clinton was interviewed by Lena Dunham, star from the HBO series Girls. Dunham launched her new newsletter with the exclusive interview with Clinton. Dunham and Clinton discussed a number of topics including Clinton’s transition from a supporter of Republican Barry Goldwater to a Democrat, her marriage to former President Bill Clinton and feminism. Dunham also showed Clinton a series of images from her life and asked her questions about each of the images. Clinton Attends a Private Fundraiser in Park City, Utah
On Monday, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended three private fundraisers in the San Francisco area. The first fundraiser was held at the Saratoga home of Talat and Kamil Hasan. Hasan is a partner at Granite Hill Capital Partners. The second fundraiser was held at the home of Tracey Turner, the founder of MicroPlace. She then attended a fundraiser hosted by Joni Binder and Robert Shwarts. Binder and Shwarts were major Clinton backers in 2008.
Finally, on Tuesday, she completed her trip by attending a breakfast event hosted by Michael and Xochi Birch, founders of Bebo (which they later sold to AOL). Silicon Valley is a major fundraising area for Clinton and all the presidential candidates. As with all private event, the fundraisers were closed to the press.
Continuing the interview that aired on Meet the Press yesterday, Hillary Rodham Clinton and host Chuck Todd discussed a number of topics including trade, abortion, her differences with President Barack Obama, and ISIS. This afternoon, Hillary Rodham Clinton hosted her second Facebook Q&A event. During the session, Clinton received over 1,500 questions. She answered a number of them including questions about her thoughts on recent comments by Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio’s family leave plan, and prescription drugs. She answered a number of other questions about her platform, and she also answered more personal questions including one about her granddaughter’s recent birthday and her thoughts on pumpkin spice lattes. On Sunday, Hillary Rodham Clinton attended three private fundraisers in the Los Angeles area. The first was at the home of Rob Friedman, co-chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. The second event was held at the Elevate Lounge in downtown Los Angeles. Clinton concluded her brief trip to California with a fundraiser was held at the home of Dr. Asif Mahmood. As with all private fundraisers, they were closed to the press.
On Sunday morning, Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared on NBC’s Meet the Press. In the interview by Chuck Todd, Clinton was asked about recent revelations and recently discovered emails on her private email server, and in response to the questions that have arisen, Clinton said, “I want these questions to be answered.” Todd and Clinton discussed a number of topics including her recent poll numbers, her platform, and her Republican opposition. The second part of the interview will air tomorrow on MSNBC’s Meet the Press Daily.

Hillary for America released a new ad “Get Ahead.” In the ad, Hillary Rodham Clinton contrasts herself with Republicans and criticizes how they are opposed to equal pay, family leave, and relieving student’s from the burden of debt. Clinton says, “If you work hard, and do you part, you should be able to get ahead and stay ahead. But the Republicans, they want to go back to letting the super wealthy call the shots. They don’t stand up for equal pay for women. They don’t support paid family leave. They don’t even really support refinancing student debt.” The full ad is above.
Last week, Hillary Rodham Clinton gave an exclusive interview to the site Refinery29, an independent style and fashion website geared toward women. The topic discussed was sexual assault, especially assaults that take place on college campuses. Clinton addressed that topic last week during a speech at University of Northern Iowa. The key to Clinton’s plan is education and prevention. She said, “This starts at an early age, with the culture playing a role in this, the messages that are sent to young men, the kind of visual images seen all too often, the lyrics of music. We know there’s a kind of pressure or expectation about behaviors that are hurtful. And so, we need to do more, starting in high school, I would argue, to begin to try to change those signals; to begin to try to change the culture.” A video from the interview is above and you can read a transcript HERE.
