Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared at the BIO International Convention in San Diego, California. The convention was for the biotech industry, which includes a number of pharmaceutical companies. Clinton sees a trend that biotech companies are outsourcing operations, something that concerns her. Clinton wants this change, saying, “I don’t want to see biotech companies or pharma companies moving out of our country simply because of some perceived tax disadvantage and potential tax advantage somewhere else,”

Clinton Global Initiative 2014 Denver

Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared at the Clinton Global Initiative’s annual meeting in Denver, Colorado. Clinton unveiled an effort called “Job One,” which is designed to combat youth unemployment. Partnering with ten different companies, CGI is hoping that youth will be hired and learn valuable job skills. The program specifically targets young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Hillary Rodham Clinton appeared at an event for her book, Hard Choices, in Edmonton, Canada. She spoke about a wide variety of topics, but spoke primarily about her time as Secretary of State. Clinton commented that Secretaries of State have a unique perspective saying, “So bringing that perspective — there have been a couple people before me, who have been secretary of state, who have run for president. I think that is a different perspective because you spend a concentrated period of time listening to people on the outside.”

Clinton covered a wide variety of topics including Benghazi, Ukraine and Vladimir Putin, 2016, and the capture of Ahmed Abu Khattala, who is believed to be the mastermind behind the attacks on the US Embassy in Benghazi.

Hillary Rodham Clinton spoke at the Toronto Region Board on Trade in Canada as part of her book tour for Hard Choices.  She spoke about a wide variety of topics including US involvement in Iraq, Russia and the Ukraine, and women in politics. One of the most contentious topics was the Keystone XL Pipeline, which has been a point of contention between the US and Canada lately. Clinton acknowledged the disagreement between the US and Canada, but cautiously said, “(But) I do not see it, though, nor should it be, a proxy for the (Canada-U.S.) relationship, It is, after all, one pipeline.”
